The female Dubstep producer and dj; Kito has remixed Noisia’s Split the Atom in a surprising and original way on the forth-coming Split The Atom: Special Edition’ which is due to be released on mau5trap records on 27th February, featuring an all new remix package.

Kito is an Australian producer currently based in sunny London, UK. She hasnt had many big hitters although this track is angular, cut up, edgy and down-right durrrty!

The tracks by Kito that are definately worth a mention would be Run for Cover and Sweet Talk.

Noisia of course will be no stranger to you all, look out for them next time your looking for a decent live dubstep act as they punch you below the belt and stamp on your head while your down with their aggressive style; an exilirating experience!

Subscape – Graveyard Shift (E.A.R.T.H)

Subscape’s ‘Elements’ EP consists of four separate releases, each accompanied by a special video tying in with the element that they are representing. Out now on Dub Police is part three of the inspirational EP – “Graveyard Shift”.

‘Graveyard Shift’ is dedicated to the ‘earth’ element, bringing a more poignant note to the EP. The ethereal atmospheres and rich percussion of the intro set the tone as the track’s rumbling bass notes and soaring synths create a climactic crescendo.  This sinister video focuses on a stomach turning affair, involving a young man burying a corpse. In the midst of digging the grave, lighting a cigarette, and making his way to the car boot, you instantly get a worrying thought of what he is about to unveil…

‘Graveyard Shift’ is a brilliant illustration of how far Subscape has come as a producer and innovative artist, cementing his position as one of the most restlessly creative and unique producers in dubstep.

We feel that this is by no means a masterpiece from Subscape but is still a great track. Chilled and mellow Dubstep is just something we are not used to hearing from Subscape.

Rekoil – Reloaded EP – Out now on Datsik’s Firepower Records

As Datsik and his Firepower Records crew blaze across America on their mammoth tour, their mission to champion a new wave of young talent is continuing apace. For the next EP on the label the floor is being opened up to 18 year-old Baltimore-based heavy hitter Rekoil. Set for release on 23rd October, ‘Reloaded’ is certain to put the young producer on the map.

Jumpstarting the EP is wrecking ball opener ‘4-matic’ that sets the scene with its haunting intro before Rekoil unleashes a volley of industrial-strength bass that is enough to knock you off your feet. Quickly taking a left turn, ‘Pretzel Twista’ reveals a warmer side to Rekoil’s production as 8-bit melodies intertwine with processed piano chords only to break down into a heavy glitched-out swing, exploring a unique style that demonstrate’s Rekoil’s attention to detail and on-point production. On ‘One Last Time’ the young producer teams up with Symbiotic on production duties and Maksim on the mic to deliver an uncompromising techy monster rammed with whipcrack snares and heavy bass drops.

Continuing to pack the heat, ‘Fat Tub Of Goo’ switches things up with a fresh combination of murky atmospheres and warping bass, while Rekoil buddies up with Firepower releasee Barron on ‘Doomsday’, a track that carries all the power that its name suggests. The epic intro rolls in on the bombast of its militaristic drums and expansive horns before giving way to a punishing onslaught of maniacal bass and cavernous drums. Concluding the EP without taking his foot off the pedal, Rekoil’s remix of Devour – ‘Pistol Grip’ ups the tempo, taking the cornerstones of his sound and rewiring them around the switching rhythms.

Over the past 2 years the young beatmaker has gained support from the likes of DatsikDownlinkAjapaiLiquid StrangerExcision, and many more. With the release of ‘Reloaded’, Rekoil delivers a cohesive collection of undeniable dance floor fillers that tap into a variety of styles and genres. With a firm nod from dubstep lynchpin DatsikRekoil has come into his own with ‘Reloaded’s’ vicious composure and many welcome surprises.

REKOIL:

Rekoil is a hard-hitter based out of Baltimore, Maryland (US). From his unrelenting basslines to his pounding drums, you immediately know that this kid is not one to be taken lightly. When he was just 17 years old, Rekoil had gained exposure with support from the likes of Datsik, Downlink, Ajapai, Liquid Stranger, Excision, and more. With a full spectrum of sound, you’ll hear everything from bone-chilling dubstep, head-banging moombahcore, and groovy mid-tempo to face-eating drumstep bangers like you’ve never heard before. At just over 2 years in the scene, it’s not hard to see that REKOIL is out to dominate dance floors worldwide!
